Happy 30th Birthday to Pokémon!

I am typing this in the final hour of the Pokemon 30th anniversary where I live so I gotta make this brief...

I LOVE POKEMON !!!

I have been celebrating Pokémon turning old by doing a little challenge run in Pokémon Green these past few weeks. I have been doing an all-bug team run which works out nicely due to there being exactly 6 fully-evolved bug guys!

Thanks to using Pokémon Green (Technically Blue patched with this hack) ; all bug Pokémon, including Scyther from this glitch in Cerulean, are available to me! :]

I have played gen 1 countless times before but this is the first time I have ever played through Green beyond the first few areas. There is a lot of charm in these very programmer-art graphics. There really exists an amateur, indie feel to the original Red and Green. I think it's very beautiful in a human way.

Closing thoughts...

Pokémon is one of my favorite things ever. You can probably tell by the amount of Pokémon gifs on this site. The series has had its major ups and downs but I'll always love it as a concept. The series has survived 30 years, I believe it can survive a good amount more. The new mainline games announced today look rather promising, so I have some hope for its future.
